The Office Convention!

My friend and I took a spontaneous trip to Scranton, PA this past weekend for The Office Convention!! Apparently, the event has been in the works for 15 or so months, although I just found out about it last Wednesday! We both had to work on Friday, so drove from 7pm-3am Friday night/ Saturday morning.

When we arrived in beautiful downtown Scranton around 10 am on Saturday morning, it was pouring rain. After standing in line for an hour or so, we registered and picked up our tickets for the Cast Q & A session Saturday evening. We bought the "Intern" passes and were at the convention just for fun...little did we know what was to come!

Around noon, we wandered from the street fair back towards the Registration tent because we were planning to get tickets for the Stock event. As it turned out, cast members were signing autographs. We didn't purchase a ticket high enough in price to get an autograph, so we stood off to the side with a few dozen other fans, hoping to get a picture of a cast member.

This picture of Creed Bratton and Oscar Nunez was the first glimpse of the cast I was able to get. After taking this picture, I thought..."Alright, I'm done! I got to take a picture of two cast members, so I'm happy! I wasn't expecting to get this close to them, since we'd purchased the cheapest tickets!"

As the hours went on (we stood by the autograph table for a bit over three hours, and at least one in the pouring rain!) we went on to meet many more cast members: Craig Robinson, Bobby Ray Shafer, Brian Baumgartner, Angela Kinsey, Phyllis Smith, Melora Hardin, Mindy Kaling, Leslie David Baker, Kate Flannery, and Ed Helms...it was so much fun to meet them and see how much they are like (or unlike, in some cases!) their character on "The Office"! Here are just a few of my many favorite pictures...

Ed Helms and Angela Kinsey at the Q & A Session on Saturday. These two seemed to get along really well- it was fun to watch them interact and joke around with each other on a few occasions.

Multiple cast members at the Q & A

More Q & A

Even more Q & A!!

Meeting Phyllis Smith- she is super sweet! She thought she wrote on my jacket and got all worried- it was so cute. She's very down to earth (all the cast members I met were!)

Meeting Melora Hardin! She's beautiful...and so unlike her character! Amazing to meet her :)

With Mindy Kaling- btw, I'm on the right in these pictures. LOL. Mindy is, in some ways, a lot like her character in the show. Her outfit was amazing-- I should have gotten a picture of her yellow shoes because they were adorable! She's very nice, too...not annoying like Kelly ;)

Melora and Mindy

Meeting Angela Kinsey. She was possibly my favorite cast member to meet. It was hysterical to watch her! So much UNLIKE her character Angela Martin in the show, she would run out to us fans, waving her arms and yelling "Hiiii!!!!!! How are you?!?!", hugging everyone. She is incredibly bubbly and talkative, and I had a blast meeting her, as well as watching her at the Q & A. She had something witty to say each time a question was asked-- I loved it!

With Ed Helms- He's a good looking guy- very calm and laid back, and he got along well with Angela Kinsey quite well.

Melora Hardin arriving, so upbeat and joyful!

Brian Baumgartner signing autographs

Kate Flannery arriving-- she's absolutely hysterical

With Kate Flannery-- amazing, humorous, and such a riot!

Hate this picture, but it's Oscar Nunez...hehe!

One of my favorite pictures of Craig Robinson...love his pose!

Me and Craig Robinson :)

Frank Regan Funeral Home in Scranton-- aka Dundie Winner ;)

MEMO in Scranton

Bobby Ray Shafer aka Bob Vance of Vance Refrigeration

While in Scranton, we also hit up Poor Richard's Pub and Mohegan Sun Casino. Seriously...this weekend was beyond amazing.

That's what she said!...looking forward to next year's convention (I hope they have one!!)

Friday Feast #165

If you were a dog, what breed would you be, and why? Hmm..a golden retriever, carefree and playful :)

What does the color purple make you think of? My sister, Lily

Approximately how long does it take you to get ready each morning? About 10-15 minutes. I don't wear makeup, so that makes it easier ;)

Main Course
How many cousins do you have, and are you close to them? I have 16, ranging in age from 21-6 months. I'm close to most of them, even though I am not able to see them often. My second to youngest cousin, age 15 months, is also my godson- he's adorable!

Take your initials (first, middle, last) and come up with something else those letters could stand for. (Example: SFO = Sweet Funny Otter) BAS = Big Apple Sunshine

Friday Feast

do you have any of the following gadgets, and what kind? when did you get them?

1. cellphone? Yes, got this one for the first time 3 years ago when I lived in Europe, then had one for my nanny job in VA, and bought one in the summer of '05 for myself.

2. digital camera? Oh man...I think my first one was back in '01 and I'm on my third one, I believe

3. video camera? nope

4. video game console? nope

5. TiVo/DVR? Had it when I was a nanny in MA from March '06-'07 and sometimes I really miss it. I don't even have cable at my place right now.

6. mp3 player/iPod? Got my first MP3 player a few years back and got an iPod about a year ago

7. laptop computer? Got my first one when I was 17 and my 2nd one when I was 21

8. any widget or app on your phone or computer to makes your life easier (commute time calculator, on-time flight alert, zocdoc, etc.)? nope...

That's My Answer 10/18

Would you rather have to skip everywhere that you go (instead of walking) OR turn the lights on and off five times every time you enter a room?

I would have to go with skipping, myself :)

That's My Answer

Thursday Threesome

::A to Z::

Onesome: A--round this time of year? What's happening with the weather where you are? Ch-ch-changes? ...or are things still 'Summery'? We've had some back and forth weather. The weekend was beautiful and summery, as was yesterday, but Monday and today are colder and rainy.

Twosome: to-- inventory your place for insurance coverage, what would it take? Too much work? How about ideas for the gang: is video taping with a voiceover the way to go? It probably wouldn't take too much. As a single person, I don't own anything (besides memories, and worth cannot be put upon them!) of value.

Threesome: Z--one coverage? ...better than "man"? Are you following any football teams this year? How are they doing? I don't follow any sports teams...sorry...lol!

Cash please

By the way...

What do you have the most of right now? ones, fives, or tens? Ones...actually all I have in my wallet right now is one $1!

Do you give yourself a weekly cash allowance? No, not really

When you're out shopping, which do you use most...cash, credit, or debit? I use debit about 90% of the time-- the other 10% is cash. I have paid off my credit card and don't plan on going back to using it!

Do you use coins in your transactions or stick strictly to bills? I use coins if I have them

Do you keep track of what cash you spend? I'm trying! Right now I'm using Expensr which makes it easier-- but it's still tough to keep track!

Have you ever lost a lot of cash? When I was about 15, I had $40 stolen from me and that was a lot then-- still is, actually!

What is the largest amount of cash you have seen? Hmm...I'm not sure- a few thousand, I guess

I love this song!

Your Karaoke Theme Song is "Margaritaville"

You are a true party animal, but your style is mild and chill.
Kicking back with a few friends and a few drinks is all you need to be happy.

You certainly don't feel pressured to be a part of any party scene. In fact, you avoid trendier spots.
You've been known to kick loose anywhere and everywhere. All you need is a cooler.

You might also sing: "Gin and Juice," "Love Shack," and "Red Red Wine"

Stay away from people who sing: "Wind Beneath My Wings"

What Your Halloween Habits Say About You

You're a friendly person, but not the life of the party. You like making someone else's day - and you'll dress up if you think of a really fun costume.

No one quite understands you, but everyone also sort of worships you. And that's exactly how you like it.

Your inner child is full of wonder and very sweet.

You truly fear the dark side of humanity. You are a true misanthrope.

You're logical, rational, and not easily effected. Not a lot scares you... especially when it comes to the paranormal.

You are a traditionalist with most aspects of your life. You like your Halloween costume to be basic, well made, and conventional enough to wear another year.
