The Office Convention!

My friend and I took a spontaneous trip to Scranton, PA this past weekend for The Office Convention!! Apparently, the event has been in the works for 15 or so months, although I just found out about it last Wednesday! We both had to work on Friday, so drove from 7pm-3am Friday night/ Saturday morning.

When we arrived in beautiful downtown Scranton around 10 am on Saturday morning, it was pouring rain. After standing in line for an hour or so, we registered and picked up our tickets for the Cast Q & A session Saturday evening. We bought the "Intern" passes and were at the convention just for fun...little did we know what was to come!

Around noon, we wandered from the street fair back towards the Registration tent because we were planning to get tickets for the Stock event. As it turned out, cast members were signing autographs. We didn't purchase a ticket high enough in price to get an autograph, so we stood off to the side with a few dozen other fans, hoping to get a picture of a cast member.

This picture of Creed Bratton and Oscar Nunez was the first glimpse of the cast I was able to get. After taking this picture, I thought..."Alright, I'm done! I got to take a picture of two cast members, so I'm happy! I wasn't expecting to get this close to them, since we'd purchased the cheapest tickets!"

As the hours went on (we stood by the autograph table for a bit over three hours, and at least one in the pouring rain!) we went on to meet many more cast members: Craig Robinson, Bobby Ray Shafer, Brian Baumgartner, Angela Kinsey, Phyllis Smith, Melora Hardin, Mindy Kaling, Leslie David Baker, Kate Flannery, and Ed Helms...it was so much fun to meet them and see how much they are like (or unlike, in some cases!) their character on "The Office"! Here are just a few of my many favorite pictures...

Ed Helms and Angela Kinsey at the Q & A Session on Saturday. These two seemed to get along really well- it was fun to watch them interact and joke around with each other on a few occasions.

Multiple cast members at the Q & A

More Q & A

Even more Q & A!!

Meeting Phyllis Smith- she is super sweet! She thought she wrote on my jacket and got all worried- it was so cute. She's very down to earth (all the cast members I met were!)

Meeting Melora Hardin! She's beautiful...and so unlike her character! Amazing to meet her :)

With Mindy Kaling- btw, I'm on the right in these pictures. LOL. Mindy is, in some ways, a lot like her character in the show. Her outfit was amazing-- I should have gotten a picture of her yellow shoes because they were adorable! She's very nice, too...not annoying like Kelly ;)

Melora and Mindy

Meeting Angela Kinsey. She was possibly my favorite cast member to meet. It was hysterical to watch her! So much UNLIKE her character Angela Martin in the show, she would run out to us fans, waving her arms and yelling "Hiiii!!!!!! How are you?!?!", hugging everyone. She is incredibly bubbly and talkative, and I had a blast meeting her, as well as watching her at the Q & A. She had something witty to say each time a question was asked-- I loved it!

With Ed Helms- He's a good looking guy- very calm and laid back, and he got along well with Angela Kinsey quite well.

Melora Hardin arriving, so upbeat and joyful!

Brian Baumgartner signing autographs

Kate Flannery arriving-- she's absolutely hysterical

With Kate Flannery-- amazing, humorous, and such a riot!

Hate this picture, but it's Oscar Nunez...hehe!

One of my favorite pictures of Craig Robinson...love his pose!

While in Scranton, we also hit up Poor Richard's Pub and Mohegan Sun Casino. Seriously...this weekend was beyond amazing.

That's what she said!...looking forward to next year's convention (I hope they have one!!)
