Friday Feast #161

Appetizer
What is your favorite type of art? I'd have to say pottery-- I used to take pottery classes as a young teen and loved it! That's something that I should really get back into!

Soup
When was the last time you got a free lunch (or breakfast or dinner)? Who paid for it? My grandmother, when I was visiting her in Boston earlier this month. She paid for way too many meals that week- Panera Bread, Ikea, Friendly's... delicious meals, btw! That was a wonderful week :)

Salad
On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being highest, how emotional are you? Lately, not too much..2.5 maybe. Since I have changed jobs and gotten a roommate, life has been much more pleasant!

Main Course
Approximately how long do you spend each day responding to emails? Not enough time- maybe 5 minutes. I am usually doing other (more fun) things on the Internet and therefore feel like I'm always behind. How does that constantly happen?

Dessert
To what temperature do you usually set your home’s thermostat? 68 or so...sometimes 70 in the winter if I'm really cold!

You Should Play the Guitar

You're very independent - both in spirit and in the way you learn.
You can teach yourself almost anything, even if it makes your fingers bleed.

You're not really the type to sit patiently through a music lesson - or do things by the book.
It's more your style to master the fundamentals and see where they take you.

Highly creative and a bit eclectic, you need a wide range of music to play.
You could emerge as a sensitive songwriter... or a manic rock star.

Your dominant personality characteristic: being rebellious

Your secondary personality characteristic: tenacity

Inquiring Minds

This week's questions were created by Gillian, wannabe snoop and secret-monger.

1. Which do you think reveals more about a person, the contents of their refrigerator or the contents of their purse? Contents of their purse...definitely. At least, that would apply in my case :)

5. Have you ever kept a diary? If so, was it top secret? What did you write about? I kept a diary for years when I was younger. I still have a journal, but am so bad about keeping up on it. I mostly use it to document vacations and road trips.

Pizza, pizza, pizza...how I love thee!

What Your Pizza Reveals

People may tell you that you have a small appetite... but you aren't under eating. You just aren't a pig.

You aren't particularly picky about pizza. It's so good... how could you be? You fit in best in the Western part of the US.

You like food that's traditional and well crafted. You aren't impressed with "gourmet" foods.

You are generous, outgoing, and considerate with your choices.

You are unadventurous and boring. You should consider staying home when taking a vacation.

The stereotype that best fits you is hippie. You knew it was coming.

I love grammar!

You Scored an A

You got 10/10 questions correct.

It's pretty obvious that you don't make basic grammatical errors.
If anything, you're annoyed when people make simple mistakes on their blogs.
As far as people with bad grammar go, you know they're only human.
And it's humanity and its current condition that truly disturb you sometimes.

Hmmm...

You Are a Carousel

You are young at heart and a truly playful person. No one would ever accuse you of taking life too seriously.
You are definitely in things for the fun. You find joy easily, and you are often building up anticipation for your next adventure.
In relationships, you tend to want to be babied and taken care of.
And while you may be a bit high maintenance, you are incredibly loyal.

Your life is simple and satisfying. Each day you treat yourself to something you enjoy.
You have a lot of emotional attachments, and experiences are extra vivid to you.
You tend to be nostalgic and sentimental. The past is important to you.
Comfortable around all living things, you have a special connection to animals and children.

At your best, you are whimsical, free spirited, and creative.
Even if your schemes seem a bit strange, they usually work out wonderfully.
At your worst, you are spoiled, demanding, and impossible to satisfy.
You've been known to act like a brat if you aren't getting your way!

Really?

You Are a Red Crayon

Your world is colored with bright, vivid, wild colors.
You have a deep, complex personality - and you are always expressing something about yourself.
Bold and dominant, you are a natural leader. You have an energy that is intense... and sometimes overwhelming.
Your reaction to everything tends to be strong. You are the master of love-hate relationships.

Your color wheel opposite is green. Green people are way too mellow to understand what drives your energy.

It's been awhile...

Nubble Lighthouse, York, Maine

I haven't blogged in forever. I ended my job as a nanny on August 2nd. Spent the next week at a retreat center with most of my family...and the next one substituting at another Montessori school. In the last week of August, I drove with my grandmother to Boston and took advantage of the free time to visit with friends and family. On Tuesday, my job at the Montessori school began and so far, it's going well. Such a change from nannying, but not necessarily in a bad way. It's extremely wonderful to have co-workers again! The job will take some adjusting but is going well so far... more another day!
