November 30!

Hopefully if/when this posts I will have successfully completed NaBloPoMo…what a long haul. I’m not made for blogging daily, let me tell you!

Tomorrow is December. DECEMBER. Christmas will be here in mere weeks. It’s just crazy craziness let me tell you. I can’t believe that 2011 is almost over. What do you have going on the next few weeks before the crazy holiday rush?

Mummy Pumpkin

While at the pumpkin festival, I took a peek at some pumpkins at the town hall. The local schools run a contest for painted pumpkins, pumpkin food, decorated pumpkins…it was pretty cool, actually!

I have to say…these kids are imaginative!

Where Do I Live?

Sometimes, I snap random photos around my city…photos that make it easy to pretend I live somewhere different, somewhere prettier…

But, since all these were taken in my state, I have to admit. It’s not the ocean, but it’s not a horrible view either.

 

Pumpkin Mania

I’d heard of a free, large pumpkin festival less than an hour away from me, so I decided to check it out. My dad, mom, and three of four sisters met me there. It was cool to try all the pumpkin food (among us, we tried pumpkin waffles, pumpkin cappuccino, pumpkin ice cream and pumpkin taffy) and see thousands of pumpkins. However, I wasn’t prepared for the crowd- or the mass amounts of fair food. It was impossible to navigate unless on the sidewalk, which meant missing all the booths… I probably wouldn’t go again, but we had fun!

There were duck-looking pumpkins…

Pumpkins molded into faces (I did talk to the man who grew these for a while. I believe he said the mold is from the Czech Republic. The pumpkins stay in for only two weeks. Prettttty awesome!

World’s Largest Pumpkin Pie…or close!

Many, many huge pumpkins. What I don’t understand is this: My dad said that when he was growing up, pumpkins around 200 lbs. would win the “largest pumpkin award”…so what are they putting in the soil/water to make pumpkins so huge??

When I was at the lake with Bug’s family a couple weeks ago, it was the opposite of when we’d been there for the 4th of July.

It was so quiet…peaceful. It was strange, but in a nice way, to be on a completely silent beach, walking alone.

I’m not sure what this random hut was about…?

Thirty Days

The weather has turned to cold unless you are one of the lucky ones living where it’s still warm. If you are, I’m jealous and coming for a visit.

Thanksgiving has come and gone, a day or more of cooking complete. The Christmas carols and decorating have begun. And for once, I’m okay with that- because you know what?

It’s only 30 days until Christmas!!!!

Are you ready? As of right now, I have two of my family members complete and one started. There are 15 people on my list and a couple gifts that need to be shipped, so I better get my butt moving…
