2014: Change

I was driving home from dinner with a couple cousins last night when we encountered a paving zone...the lanes being paved had not been shut down, the construction workers and drivers alike were frustrated and everyone was simply not happy. We spent a good 10-15 minutes in the mess as they opened and closed random lanes as cars maneuvered around cones and equipment. We found the whole thing humorous just because it was so horribly organized, were not on a timetable and well, it was either that or be angry about traffic.

As we drove away from the mess and along our new route, I couldn't help but think how well the situation paralleled my year. Messy, unorganized, switching roads, plan A switched to B and then C.

I could write a book on this year. I doubt many people would read it, but I managed to fill a whole journal with the end of May.

Since the beginning of the year, I have: (definitely not in chronological order)

celebrated the New Year in Texas
been reminded that people who seem to have perfect lives actually do not
switched churches
said goodbye to friends moving
moved myself
couch surfed, big time
gotten a tattoo
quit my job
got new jobs
visited the Grand Canyon
helped search for a missing cousin
gotten to know family members I didn't know I had
journaled, a lot
cried, a lot
been lonely, a lot
grown, a lot
rested in the promise that God will never leave me

I'll be back...but I'm tellin' ya, it's been a year!
